How I Work

I offer counselling for adults in East Sussex, with a flexible approach so you can choose the way of working that feels most supportive for you.

Walk and Talk Therapy

I specialise in Walk and Talk Therapy, offering counselling sessions outdoors in a peaceful private woodland setting just outside Lewes, as well as other agreed outdoor locations. Many people find that being outside and walking side by side feels more natural and less intense than sitting in a counselling room.

Walking gently while talking can help thoughts and feelings flow more freely, and the natural environment can feel calming and grounding. This way of working can be particularly supportive if you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or uncomfortable in more formal settings, and many parent carers find it offers valuable time and space away from daily responsibilities.

Sessions are always adapted to your pace and needs, with opportunities to pause or sit if needed.

Face-to-face and online counselling

Alongside Walk and Talk Therapy, I also offer face-to-face counselling in a calm and tranquil setting just outside Lewes, with good transport links and ample parking. Online counselling is also available via a secure video platform and can be a helpful option if attending in person feels difficult or impractical.

Session structure

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at a regular time. Some people come to counselling for a short period to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term therapy for deeper exploration. We’ll regularly review how the work is going together to ensure it continues to meet your needs.

My approach

My approach is person-centred, meaning I place importance on your autonomy, lived experience, and inner wisdom. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

My work is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model that supports understanding and compassion for the different “parts” of yourself, helping to bring greater balance and self-awareness.

Professional and ethical practice

As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in line with their Ethical Framework. This means I am committed to providing a professional, safe, and supportive service. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential, except in specific circumstances, which are clearly outlined in my counselling agreement and terms and conditions.
